SetCut: turn a workout video into a timed session

SetCut is an iPhone app published by Arcodange. It cuts a workout routine video (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or your own) into named exercises, then turns it into a timed session with rests and announcements. Everything runs on the phone, with no account.

We save dozens of routines seen on Instagram or TikTok. When it is time to train, we rewind, pause and count seconds. SetCut does that work for you.

The analysis, the named list, then the session. The creator's video is blurred.

What the app does

  • It cuts the video into exercises: it reads the text shown on screen, spots shot changes and movement, and suggests a name for each exercise.
  • It reads the instructions when the video gives them ("3 × 12", "30 sec", "4 rounds").
  • It builds a session: a timer for durations, a "Done" button for reps, adjustable rests, beeps on the last seconds and, if you want, a voice that announces the next exercise.
  • It keeps your sessions in a notebook, with the creator's handle and the original link, to credit them and find their video again.

No account, on the phone

The analysis runs on the iPhone: no video is sent to a server, and there is no account to create. What leaves the phone (or not) is described in the privacy policy (in French).

Free, or ad-free for €2.99

SetCut is free, with discreet banners, never during an effort. A one-time purchase, SetCut complet (€2.99), removes all ads: it is mostly a way to encourage us. As a thank-you, it also opens a still simple reading of recipe videos.

Who publishes it

SetCut is published by Arcodange, the company that also builds ReCoDanse, the app to practise dancing. The app is coming to the App Store for iPhone.
